Our Story
PlainTray was born in 2014 from a simple joy: building tools that solve real problems. Sharing a file meant signing up for yet another service — so we built something that didn't need any of that. That first version was bare-bones, but it struck a nerve. People loved how fast and frictionless it was. Now PlainTray is back, rebuilt from the ground up with modern end-to-end encryption, but the same core belief: sharing should just work.
What We Choose Not to Build
No Accounts
Not because we couldn't build them — because you shouldn't need one to share a file.
No Tracking
There's no analytics code, no cookies tracking your behavior. We don't know who you are, and that's the point.
